Beginning Piecing Series Part 1

This year, we wanted to create a class that would teach beginners the basics of piecing.  This 4 month series will start with how to properly cut your fabrics and work all the way to quilting and binding your project. The cost of the first class is $25 and all additional class will be $15. You will need to bring your sewing machine, standard sewing supplies, cutting mat, straight ruler, rotary cutter, Start Quilting with Alex Anderson pattern book, thread, and needed fabrics and notions. Everyone needs a Frankie in their life! This a fun quilt to make and have for the Halloween season.  Join Debbie to learn how to put this beginner friendly quilt together. The cost of the first class is $25 (Sept 4th) and the cost of the second class is $15 (Sept 25th). You will need to bring your sewing machine, standard sewing supplies, cutting mat, straight ruler, rotary cutter, trans-web, Frankie Pattern and needed fabrics. Interested in trying something new? Try a floor canvas or canvas placemats!  Debbie will walk you through creating this Halloween version. The cost of the class is $25. You will need to bring your sewing machine, standard sewing supplies, cutting mat, straight ruler, rotary cutter, threads, trans-web/hotfix, and floor canvas kit (limited number available). After the successful class for beginners, we decided to add more paper piecing classes.  We plan to use the Starry Block of the Month Book by Carol Doak to work from this year.  Each month we will work on one block. The cost of the class is $25 for the first class and $15 for any additional classes.  You will need to bring your sewing machine, standard sewing supplies, cutting mat, straight ruler or Add-A-Quarter Ruler, rotary cutter, and Starry BOM Book. The Sewing Studio will provide copies of the block on paper-piecing paper, and an iron and ironing mat for each participant.  It is suggested that you purchase at least a Layer Cake of fabric and a couple of yards of background fabric to create your blocks. You can join us any month, even if you did not start with us.  Call the shop at (806)792-3863 to reserve your spot!
